about

SOAT release 2nd single ‘Lost Her to Wolves’ from their soon to be released sophomore album ‘The End is Nigh but the Night is Young’.

To follow up the fast-paced first single ‘Baby, I’m the Devil’, Strangers on a Train have chosen a much slower song to show their audience that they are also capable of producing a ballad macabre.

‘Lost Her to Wolves’ is being sung by a dead actor, who lies in his grave wondering about all the things he has lost and the people that took it away from him, with hate just growing inside him.

It is a dark tragic anti-love song with clear hints to the actor Robert Walker and his work, especially a little film called ‘Strangers on a Train’.

The new album ‘The End is Nigh but the Night is Young’ will be released November 30 and it will consist of 12 songs all with the overall theme - the end of the World.

lyrics

Lost Her to Wolves
By Strangers on a Train

Jenny and David are dancing somewhere

My soul ‘neath their feet and stars in their hair

And me, I’m drinking bourbon and rain

reduced to a stranger on a train

Oh, I lost her to wolves

they tore her apart
And she loved every minute of it

I lost her to wolves
they tore her apart
And she loved it

A voice spoke straight from my heart
with the cruel timbre of God:

Said: “Your garland won’t be there under the clock”
Guess I wasn’t the biggest cock in the doghouse

Oh, I lost her to wolves...

They say that this is the coward’s way out
But they stole everything that I cared about
So do you really believe
That I give a shit about courage now

Oh, I lost her to wolves...

But oh, I’ll come back from Hell
I’ll come back from Hell for you (x2)

Now I wait in my grave
Farewell love, farewell liquor,
No longer your slave
One touch of Venus, a lifetime of pain
I will never be anything (x3)
But a stranger on a train
